For many dogs much of their weight is in their legs and their torsos are slighter in build. These dogs will have excellent results with the medium size harness.
Select the dog harness size based on your dog’s weight first, then take measurements for accuracy. If your dog’s weight is on the cusp of our dog harness sizes, we recommend sizing down.

The Help ‘Em Up Harness is machine-washable with mild detergent. Set to delicate cycle and air dry for best results.

Nova our 75 pounds standard poodle had a tplo surgery 2 weeks ago. We bought a medium harness and it fits perfectly.
Best thing we did was buying this harness.
Bought it in advance so we could fit it on Nova prior to surgery. Vet technician was very happy that we brought it the day off the surgery and told us that they love it when people buy this harness. When we picked her up she had it on, made it a breeze to put the sleeping lady in the car.
Very useful to provide support for the 2 first week after surgery and because it is snowy here now se will use it all winter. I regret not buying one of the additional available handles. Look into it before ordering…

Our Trooper Girl 🐶 lost the use of her back legs a few months ago. She weighs 60 lbs and I couldn’t handle her without this harness. I’m hopeful she will regain her independence again, but until then I’m thankful we have this harness. ❤️.
This harness was recommended by our veterinary orthopedic surgeon. Our dog Nico had to have bilateral TPLO surgery two weeks ago, in other words he had tears in both of his ACL's in his hind legs repaired. He is not allowed to weight-bear on his own for up to eight after surgery. He is an eighty pound Pitty and the use of a "sling" would not work for him. We ordered the medium conventional harness and it fit perfectly. My vet described the use of this harness as virtually transforming my dog into a "doggie suitcase". It allows us to easily and safely assist him to move and walk, while maintaining the weigh-bearing precautions. I found the video on the website as to how to properly fit and use the harness helpful. We do have pet insurance and thanks to a letter of recommendation for this harness by our Vet we were reimbursed 80% of the cost. I would definitely recommend this harness post surgery or just to assist a dog that that is having mobility issues.
Our rottie recently started to drag his leg and really had a hard time walking/standing. Through his former rehab therapist (he's a medical rescue with life long issues) we were recommended this particular harness brand and let me tell you this has been a life saver not only for him but for us as well. He's feeling more secure in the walks and wants yo even walk longer because we are able to help him if need be and to help him up with not only ease but also no pain for him. After 2 weeks of use he's even walking better than before.
