For many dogs much of their weight is in their legs and their torsos are slighter in build. These dogs will have excellent results with the medium size harness.
Select the dog harness size based on your dog’s weight first, then take measurements for accuracy. If your dog’s weight is on the cusp of our dog harness sizes, we recommend sizing down.

Our 15 year old Pittie has arthritic hips and was struggling with even the few steps to our backyard. She's 65 lbs and while my husband can get his arms around her to lift her, I can't. Plus, she hates being picked up under her belly.

Maddy has some hind end weakness that we are still working on diagnosing. She thinks stairs jntk the truck are way too scary and has adapted really well to the Help em up Harness. We also bought the straps but have not needed them yet but I'm sure they'll be a big help when we do.
